MORE PEOPLE AROUND THE TABLE
A special meal, with a plan to match.
A holiday dinner, birthday meal or snacks for book club. Turn one upcoming meal into an event with separate courses, quantities for your guests and a dated prep plan.
Start with the people and the occasion
Open an upcoming, uncooked meal in your event’s delivery week. Choose Change meal, then Special event planning. Enter the occasion, 1–40 guests, date and serving time. The week must not already have a placed grocery order.
Add guest dietary needs and menu ideas, then choose cooking effort and course types. Household dietary rules still apply. Optional wine and nonalcoholic pairing ideas are advice; alcoholic drinks are not added to groceries.
Review the whole event before saving
The private preview brings together separate course recipes, a dated prep and cooking timeline, guest requirements and estimated groceries. Review quantities, methods, equipment capacity and any carryover warnings. You can ask for changes before choosing Use this event plan.
Check actual pans, fridge space, ingredient labels and guest requirements. Sample menus and AI-generated recipes are not kitchen-tested. Watch the special-event guide for the steps from planning to cart review.
Give this week its own budget
An optional one-off grocery target covers the event, the other meals in that delivery week and delivery. Leaving it blank keeps your usual budget guidance. Event portions and cooking effort apply to this meal; your normal household settings remain unchanged.
Course ingredients combine into the ordinary weekly grocery list, alongside the meals you keep. Applying a new event plan requires a fresh grocery review before cart preparation.
Shop in time for the first prep day
The timeline calls out when advance-prep ingredients are needed. Usual scheduled cart timing stays the same. Prepare the cart and arrange delivery earlier when the first cooking task requires it.
Review substitutions, quantities and final prices in the prepared cart. You choose the available delivery slot and complete checkout yourself in Save-On-Foods. When it is time to cook, follow the dated timeline and each course’s checklist.
